THE derelict and abandoned tennis courts at
Warriston Playing Fields will be the subject for discussion next month at what
is expected to be a lively meeting in the clubrooms of the Edinburgh
Northern Bowling Club. The club, based in Warriston Crescent, are taking a
leading role in the discussions with local residents to this sporting venue
and worried at the possible sell-off of this sports ground. Representatives
of school teams that use the Warriston Playing Fields will be invited to this
meeting, which is due to take place on Monday, November 27 at 7.00pm. Also on
the agenda is a possible announcement on behalf of the bowling club to offer
school football teams the use of the clubrooms and changing accommodation on
Saturday mornings. This move follows on the concern of club official Roy
Campbell at the publicised state of the changing facilites on offer at
Warriston Playing Fields. This move by the bowling club is dependent on the
approval of its members.
